In Loving Memory of Newel "Lee" Huntsman

South Jordan, UT-Newel Lee Huntsman, age 73, died May 12, 2014 at his home in South Jordan, Utah, after a brave 18 year battle with cancer. He was born June 25, 1940 in Aurora, Sevier County, Utah, to Lee Rex and Vonda V. Christiansen Huntsman. He married Mava Lynn Torgersen June 19, 1964 in the Manti Temple. They've been best friends and sweethearts for over 50 years. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1958, attended Utah State University, and was in the Army Special Forces, Airborne (1962-1964) serving in the Panama Canal Zone. He earned his barbering license from SLCC, and retired after 52 years of cutting hair. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, enjoying teaching and serving.
His greatest accomplishment is his family who love and honor him. With them, he enjoyed sports, time at his cabin, fishing, hunting, building projects, playing games, traveling around the world, road trips, working, visiting with friends while cutting hair at his shop (Lee's Barbershop) in West Jordan. He was always positive and tried to help others. He loved to tease, tell jokes, and was a great storyteller.
He is survived by his wife Mava and their children: Brenda (Mark) Peterson, Lori Huntsman, Paul (Kathy Eddington) Huntsman, also a brother Steven (Mary Terry) Huntsman, sister-in-law Cheryl Michaelsen Huntsman, Aunt Faye Huntsman Barney, 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Kimberli Huntsman Wenaas, parents Rex and Vonda Huntsman, brother Robert and Mary Nielson Huntsman, brother Dennis (Cheryl) Huntsman.
